Automated Backup via FTP

I've got a question about an old SCO box. I know it's not really Linux, but I think the helpful people here will have a idea of how to help me. Its running as an POS server in a store I work in, so backups are vital. The tape backup drive has physically failed and we cannot get another of an identical brand/model to swap out due to the age. The vendor of the POS software cannot get a driver for a new tape drive working with the box either. Anyways point being, I'd like to backup the data files we have, or backup the entire harddrive (only a few gigs) and have it transfer to another machine via FTP or samba (I'd rather use FTP) every night at a particular time. Where should I start looking for answers or a walk through for something like this? Any help to point me in the right direction would be awesome. Thanks guys!

I second that notion. Really try and use rsync you will love it.

If you really want to use FTP just wite a script and put it in cron. Play with FTP for a bit and then it would not be that hard.
