Auto Setup External Monitor


Does anyone know what program I can use to set it up so when I plug in a VGA or HDMI monitor it automatically sets up video output?

-P.S. -This is on a ArchLinux install with PekWM for the window manager

Windows comes to mind, if you want the ease of something automatic

To honestly add to that though, in the past I have used HDMI with no fuss whatsoever, it was all plug and play. With VGA, you may have to play with your settings a bit to get it up and working just the right way that you need it.

are you shure?, because i know whenever I try a HDMI output I have to spend a good amount of time messing with xrandr to make it work

What make and model of computer do you have?
