auto connect

How do I configure kinternet so I can trigger it to open and connect to isp via Konqueror? (Or Mozilla). At present I'm starting connection separately from the system tray icon, then opening up browser and selecting web site.

Cheers

Peter

kppp autostarting konqueror on connect

hi peter, not sure if this is what you were asking or not, but as i understood your question you want konqueror to start automatically when an internet connection is made. if that is so, i used kppp to do it.

start kppp and press the configure button;
edit your connection info. when it has a name, select it and press edit;
click on the execute tab and type konqueror in the space that says execute upon connection.

hope that helps. let me know if i didn't understand your question at all.

been to new zealand...what a great place.

Thanks Vance and Sakeeb - i tried Vance's suggestion but it didn't open Konqueror - do I need to put a full path to the executable? Great to hear you've been downunder Vance - most people don't even know we're here!

hmmm. if konqueror is not in your PATH variable then you need the whole directory and name. but, it should be in your path. did you capitalize the k? it should not be.

try it directly from the command prompt and see what gets konqueror started.

for such a small area, you guys down under have it all in one country! moutains, desert, beach, snow, hotsprings, flats, beautiful.

ooh thats it - capital K! Works now - thank you. There is a lot of landscape variety - thats why Lord of the Rings was so easy to shoot here. Thanks again.
Peter.
