autmate file transfer using expect

HI,
I kinda new to linux expect. Can somebody help to transfer files to another windows server using expect. I using the expect to spawn a ftp. I was able to make a script for the automation. What i wanted is that if the problem puts/grab a file to transfer to another, the script would check the filenames's date, if the date if it already exsited on the other server or if file's were already downloaded the program will stop.

The sample file is raw_2007-06.txt
Is there something like that.Thanks

Best Regards,
newbie_adm

Whoa, whoa, whoa! I know you know what you mean. The trick is to clue the rest of us in.

Could you maybe say what you want in different words? Shorter sentences? Examples?
