Unhappy ATI Drivers canīt open display on Slackware 13.37

Hi, I'm new user on linux and Slackware, since two years ago, and I apreciate the guides that i found the linuxquestions page, are helpfull for me, but now i try to install the ATI propietary drivers on Slackware 13.37 after make the package install and change the Xorg.conf with aticonfig --initial, I run the flgrxinfo for test the installation and give me a "Error: unable to open display (NULL)", do you can help me to find where is the error if you have some experience whit ATI drivers on Slackware.

Thanks!

Is there any reason for using the fglrx driver? I use Xorg's Radeon driver Radeon HD 4350 which works perfectly. You don't say what video card you have but things are quite good for ATI Radeon cards with xorg's radeon or radeonhd drivers.
ciao,
jdk

I have a AGP ATI Radeon HD 4600 Series 1GB , do you recomend use a Xorg Radeon drivers for my video card? I try to use the fglrx drivers, because I test before on Slackware 13.1 and work fine.

Thanks!

It seems it no longer works fine. That's why you're posting on this forum. I think it would be easier for you to use the xorg driver. Yes, I recommend that you try it at least.
ciao,
jdk
