Exclamation ::ATI Drivers::

I've tryed Mandrake, Redhat, Slackware, Suse you name it ... but i simply cannot succed to install Ati drivers with full 3D acceleration. I installed Suse 9.2 and look... a wonder it's not in conflict with anything when i installed drivers. Normally i installed source of kernel etc.. even built manualy drivers like the "How to" said but nothing works it says something like this
direct rendering "no"
cannot find PCI :2:0:0 device AGP not enabled and so on ...
only damn Mesa(when i type glxinfo), now i can't even go to X. I understand that ati released new drivers but they are not helpfull very much, anyway i have Radeon 9600 Pro and Nforce 2 chipset

so ANY help will be appreciated, maybe a little walkthrough through this nightmare.

Try Knoppix. The automatic hardware detection is a major strength of that distro.

Knoppix won't give you 3D acceleration for R300 and later.

@Killkenny
