Unhappy Atheros AR5006x wireless on ubuntu 7.04

I have an HP m7480n desktop and it came with an atheros AR5006x pci wireless card, I'm running ubuntu 7.04 but it's not working.
I got the mad wifi package and read the install file but it doesn't really says anything about this linux version. It said that most people just have to type make on a terminal from the madwifi directory, it did something but I don't know what it did. I sees it on the restricted drivers manager but I don't know what that is?
can someone help me? please.

According to the guide at your card is supported automatically and 'You only need to rebuild this module if you recompile the kernel'. Follow the guide if you have changed your kernel version, otherwise 'Configure your new ath0: under System->Administration->Networking'

If that doesn't work you may have the problems described at so please post the output of the root commands
