ATA disk drive not supported

I come from the land of WIN XP and the Blue Screen of Death.
and very new "Newbie"

I've installed Linux/Knoppix 5.3.1 and need a version of "sfdisk" that supports my ATA hd. The sfdisk (version 3.08 (aeb@cwi.nl,040824)from util-linux-2.12r) does not support the newer ATA hd.

Any other Utilities that would allow me to retrieve whats left of
my Windows files will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

RicardoHT

Are you just trying to get the files from an NTFS partition?
