ata 3 error whenever i boot linux
 

whenever i boot linux it shows this error continuously:-

i'm not able to work on the terminal because of this..

when i typed dmesg this is the o/p:-

Have you tried this disk in a different PC?
Maybe you have a faulty disk (or a faulty SATA connection).

no i didn't do that..but i ran self test on hdd using disk utility and it showed bad sectors then i low level formatted it..after then it showed that the disk is healthy..but still the error is not gone..what if the disk is faulty..isn't there a solution to this, apart from replacing it?

You could try SMART to get some stats, but the disk is likely on its way out.
Anything more than a few dozen bad clusters means its going to fail soon.

The bad sector was not necessarily removed by the low level format - it may have been just added to the list of permanently bad sectors and allocated a "spare" sector. This is OK, but you only have a small number of substitute sectors provided for this purpose on the disk.

Are you still getting the dmesg errors?
If not, try running some kind of disk test or just writing large chunks of data to it.
