at booting, linux is not displayed
Hello friends
I have installed Red Hat Linux on my PC along with WinXP on another partition. I have used LILO as Boot loader and when rebooting the PC, it starts loading Win XP and doesn't ask for Linux to boot. What should i do. Should i do modification in Boot.ini file. Please suggest. Thanks. Regards Puniti |
A little more info wouldn't go astray. For example, where did you install LILO? And a general rundown on your drives (/dev/hda etc.) and such.
You can modify the Windows boot.ini but you need to know where LILO is installed. Baldrick |
samba is not displayed in system setting-serversetting
I am in problem while trying to configure samba, oh sorry ! configuration is a step that is 2 far from me.
Actually i'm following the book redhatlinux10(fedora)by christopher and while trying to click on through application-systemsettings-serversettings then only find services. No samba. Book suggests a command to check whether samba is installed or not. " rpm -.......grep samba" and we should see five packages like samba, samba client, samba swat, samba comman along with their version , but i find only one samba common after typing some commands for installation, please suggest what should i do. i'm irritated. |
