It seems that you need to use codeweaver to run shockwave on linux, which costs money:

welcome to LQ!!

If you use correct punctuation, capitals, etc. it will make your posts a lot easier to read.

Searching Google using "shockwave Linux" shows that this is not straight forward---but there does appear to be some hope!!

You are referring to Crossover---sold by: http://codeweavers.com

The price is not all that bad for what it does.....

For the love of god, use punctuation!
You have no sound when ppl (I gues people?) are talking? - when you are having a conversation over skype?
Type complete words and sentences, please.

Skype sometimes messes with the sound settings. One possible solution:

Open alsamixer:
ctrl-alt-t
to open the terminal
type: alsamixer

And make sure pcm and sound are turned up.
You can use tab and the arrow keys to navigate. You can also take a look in the skype options / sound.

A more descriptive thread title wouldn't go amiss, either.

Okay, there's a difference between REPLY and NEW THREAD. When you start a NEW THREAD and someone REPLIES, you click on REPLY, instead of starting another thread.

and all threads (minus the closed dupe) merged

saturnrose09 08-21-2008 05:16 PM

some ppl are so rude

well excuse me but i didnt know how to do it so no need for the rudeness just a simple answer to my questions would of done.

Tinkster 08-21-2008 05:23 PM

There was nothing rude about it .... just a reasonably detailed way to
describe the proper use of a forum.

Cheers,
Tink

And we appreciate that; but you had received a few (from
my perspective adequate and helpful) responses, and then
fired the same thread off again. Which people on the boards
who responded the first time around will find rude.

No harm done, all well with the world?

Cheers,
Tink
