Assigning hot keys in Gnome/Fedora 8

Hey,

In Windows, they have hot keys assigned. For instance, they have Windows key+e opens Explorer and Windows Key+d brings you to the desktop. I would like to know how to set this up in Gnome. In addition to that, I have a button on my mouse that is intended to open up your browser (in Windows), is it possible to program the mouse to do this in Linux?

Thanks in advance

I think what you are looking for at least for the keyboard shortcuts is..in Gnome click System..click preferences..click personal..click keyboard short cuts. As for your mouse I'm not sure if you can change that or not.

Oh and one more thing if it is your system don't be afraid to play around with it and look to see what you have unless your root you can't completely mess it up and if you do just keep notes so you can remember how you had it set up you can always reinstall there is also a lot of documentation to read through to if you get stuck.

Thanks Dark. Everything was there, pretty much. The button on my mouse was programmable. Just had to click on the respective action and press the button and it programmed it.

SOLVED!
