Are there Linux programs that will clean the Windows OS? I have been hit with malware in XP Pro., I have two other computers with Ubuntu

just boot into safemode in windows and scan everything

Are you asking for a bootable CD that can scan your hard drive for viruses/malware/etc... that runs Linux, or programs that are open source that have been ported to Windows?

It really depends, and since you said the magic words "XP Pro" I am assuming it's an NTFS formatted drive. In which case it's less likely.

One could argue though that Linux does indeed come with a tool to "clean" XP, it's called Gentoo :jawa:

You can scan and remove virii on windows machines using the likes of clam-av, f-prot ran from linux (installed or via a live cd).

Dunno how well they work at removing malware though.

Personally, I think the best way to clean windows is by complete removal.

There are some really nasty malwares that do require a clean re-install.
It's also the only way you can be sure you didn't miss anything.
