arch linux xorg fail

Hi guys. I just installed arch and I am having some trouble configuring X. I followed the beginners guide on the arch wiki. When i run 'startx' I get a black screen and then it goes back to the tty with connection to X server lost message.

We're gonna need mor info than that.

After the first reboot did you install x if you did did you install all 80 odd packages? Did you install a propritary graphics driver if you did did you remove the os driver if you removed it how? Did you install a DE if you did did you install a display manager and enable it? Lots of questions and if you do ask this in the Arch forum and in this way be ready for some "feedback"

i remember now that xorg on arch does not automatically install twm and xterm, but these are still called for in /etc/X11/xinit/xinitrc. that causes an error; not sure if that is what op experiences.

as has been said so many times before:

When you look at /var/log/Xorg.0.log, look for lines containing (EE) -- these are errors that the X server encountered while trying to start. They should give you a hint of the nature of the problem. If not, please post them here and someone should be able to help.

xorg logs are at ~/.local/share/xorg/Xorg.0.log now in Arch if you are up to date.
Also X has to be started from the same tty as login.

Read the Arch forums, many posts on this.
