apt under Fedora?
Hey Guys,
Trued apt under Debian and really liked it (to the extent I knew how it worked). But I understand that it is available for any distro including Fedora! Any idea how to get it for Fedora and or how it might work differently? Or is there already another tool that's just as good already working for Red Hat/Fedora? Thanks! Tim |

If using Fedora Core 4, just do
Code:
#yum install apt synaptic |
FYI: Blag is a one-CD Fedora-based distro that comes with apt and Synaptic ready to go out-of-the-box.

Apt is deprecated in Fedora Core in favor of Yum.

This walkthrough should help you install Apt and Synaptic (and a lot of other stuff) and add the repositories for it. BTW, the default Fedora updater (yum) and its GUI (yumex) are also good. Up2date which was the red hat GUI updater is no good for Fedora anymore because Fedora was removed from the Red Hat Network I heard, rendering up2date useless on Fedora.
