apt configure frustrating me

I was totally confused by apt-get settings.i have an accessible repodata (http://ayo.freshrpms.net/ fedora/linux/6/i386 core extras updates),during executing "apt-get update" come up with a problem ,any error prompt:

Get:1 http://ayo.freshrpms.net fedora/linux/6/i386 release [1264B]
Fetched 1264B in 3s (338B/s)
Err http://ayo.freshrpms.net fedora/linux/6/i386/core pkglist

Get:2 http://ayo.freshrpms.net fedora/linux/6/i386/extras release [174B]

Get:4 http://ayo.freshrpms.net fedora/linux/6/i386/updates release [176B]

Failed to fetch http://ayo.freshrpms.net/fedora/linu...pkglist.extras Connection failed
Reading Package Lists... Done
Building Dependency Tree... Done
E: Some index

the above URLs where "http://ayo.freshrpms.net/fedora/linux/6/i386/base/pkglist.core" do not actually corresponds to real URL "http://ayo.freshrpms.net/fedora/linux/6/i386/base/pkglist.core.bz2"

why apt-get have no the postfix ".bz2"?
how should i fix this?
what 's the meaning of "pkglist" and "realse"?

Why don't you install Fedora 10? Fedora 6 is too old... it is not supported

That means nothing.
Sometimes apt skips a repo when it does not get a timely response, or when the mirror is being synchronized, or heavy traffic, try again later.
