Application locations?

Okay, completely new to this this OS. I downloaded Firefox onto the desktop. Unzipped it onto the desktop... I run the installer and a firefox window comes up. This is the closest I've gotten to running the application.

Where has it been installed?

Figured it out

Okay, figured it out, I think. It is Mozilla Firefox. When I extracted it i expected some sort of ".exe" so that I'd know which icon was the application. Here's another question for you... where can I get a new firefox icon for the panel... anyway... thanks for the reply!

it should be installed in where you have selected to ..or else

by default in any one of the following locations

1) /usr/bin
2) /sbin
3) /home/<username>

if it not in these, then
1) /usr/local/firefox-installer
2) /usr/share/firefox-installer

I have installed firefox in my home directory....
So, for me..the icon is at
/home/<username>/firefox-installer/chrome/icons/default

and for u
it is at ...
<addresswherefirefoxisinstalled>/chrome/icons/default
OR
<addresswherefirefoxisinstalled>/Icons
