APM and Mandrake

Hi, my system is hanging at shutdown after fresh install of Man 10. I remember reading a post about enabling APM, could someone walk me through this pls?

go to "Configure Your Computer" in the System/Config menu
go to Boot
then to Bootloader and tick the "enable ACPI" box
then reboot
next time you shut down it should shut down properly

Enabling acpi on my mb and aswell in Man config didn't do the trick. The system still hangs on shutdown, it will reboot properly after enabling acpi and I will see the term signal and halt on the verbose screen...but...the next time I try to shutdown..the hang problem appears.

edit:

I get the notification from my monitor that it is "out of scan range" when it hangs..same everytime.

I had a problem like that on my old IBM t40. Check and make sure that you have the proper video drivers installed.
