Question Apache2 Network Share Redirect

I'm trying to setup my apache2 server to link a directory to a windows network share. I have the network share mounted to a directory on the file system '/media/remote' using the smbmount function and am able to view the contents of the share on the system. And I have the following in my apache configuration:

Alias /remote /media/remote
<Directory /media/remote>
AllowOverride None
Order allow,deny
Allow from all
</Directory>

However, when I type in the full url 'http://server/remote', it gives me a 'Permission Denied Error'. Is there a way to set this up?

Thanks in advance. ^_^

well the directory declartion would look fine, does the apache user itself have permissions to access the location witin the server?

I solved the problem... The Directory directive was not fine, it was missing one important line:
Code:
Options Indexes FollowSymLinks MultiViews
