Apache2: LAN machines cannot access website

On the Apache2 server itself, the default website can be accessed via http://localhost. However, when I try to access the default website from other LAN machines via the server IP address, I get 'Connection refused' error with firefox and 'Page cannot be displayed' with IE.

Please advise.

You need to check your network settings. If you using the IP address like in (assuming it's the IP of the server) and still not getting the result then make sure that Apache is running on the default port. Also check your firewall settings to make sure it's not blocking.

Also you might want to check whether the basic network services work fine from the server by pinging it from a remote location.
