apache web server case sensitive??


if i name a file on my apache server "download.zip" and you try to download "DOWNLOAD.ZIP", the file isnt found. this is silly if you ask me and i was hoping someone could tell me a way to fix this?

Typically everything on a unix or *nix system is case sensitive. I don't know if apache has a way of turning it off or not. I imagine the documentation would say so if it did. You can find the docs for your version on the Apache-HTTPD Website.

heh having the same problem over here. im positive there is a way to turn this off though. ill post if i find it.

Yeah mod_speling does this, and its probably loaded by default

LoadModule speling_module                modules/mod_speling.so
you just need to add this to your config file
