Unhappy apache web server

I had a website on Yahoo! geocities, and I recently closed it, but I saved all the files. I then installed redhat on a computer with the apache web hosting server. I then transfered all of my files into the var/www/html folder and it does include an index.html file. Now what url do I type into a web browser to access those files? Am I over-simplifing the process or what?

You type in the hostname of your Web server, if you have a DNS entry set up for it. Otherwise you have to type in the server's IP address.

http://localhost

your question is not clear to me. if you are the only web site on the server and if you on the host machine itself, open the browser and type http://localhost

If you are accessing it from with in your LAN (home) i think from your computer you have to make an entry in your LMHOST file to point internally to your server.

Maybe i missed the question
