Question Apache errors

When I try to start apache i get a error:
address already in use.

can someone tell me why this is?

Im not running any other httpd servers just
2 eggdrop bots and a ircd at this time.

Copy of error:

httpd failed. The error was: Stopping httpd: [FAILED]

Starting httpd: (98)Address already in use: make_sock: could not bind to address xx.xx.xx.xx:80
no listening sockets available, shutting down
[FAILED]

As root run the command netstat -tlnp and see which process is using port 80. Assuming that's the port you've set apache to use. If it's xinetd that's blocking it then you should disable the http service in the xinetd.conf file or the specific file in the /etc/xinetd directory. Just add a line like:
disable=yes
