Apache driving me nuts!

Well I wasn't sure what to put this under exactly cause I've been using Linux for a while but I am a noob at apache so here it goes...

I did a new install of Debian 3.1 sarge with bare basics (no gui, or other stuff) and I noticed that theres a new version of apache (apache2). I have been able to get a older version of apache to work with IP hosting but, I can't get it to work with domian names (atctualy multiple and a single domain name). I'm really lost right now and would probly need a semy detailed view of it but I would be very thankfull if you people could help me out.

Thanks
Dave

So can got IP based hosting works, but not name based right?

If so, have you made the appropriate DNS entries for each for the vhosts?

I had IP based working a while ago on an older version of apache, but I never tried names.

were do you put the DNS entries? I always thought it was in the hosts file, am I wrong?
