Apache ./configure complains no gcc

Hi All, (ubuntu 5.10)

I now see that gcc is in: /usr/lib, which is not in my search path:

root@darklight:~# echo $PATH
/usr/local/sbin:/usr/local/bin:/usr/sbin:/usr/bin:/sbin:/bin:/usr/bin/X11

How do I append /usr/lib permanently to my search path?

Thanks,

ab

Please do not post the same thread in more than one forum. Picking the most relevant forum and posting it once there makes it easier for other members to help you and keeps the discussion all in one place.
