Question AOL DSL and a linksys router

Hello everyone, this is my very first post., complete newbie! I just started with Linux with SuSE 9.2 Pro. I also have AOL DSL(hey, it's free). I've tried for hours on end to get this connection right, but with no results. I have the DSL modem, linksys router, and an integrated NIC, trying to configure it through YAST.

If anyone is familiar with this, please reply. I'd much rather spend this time learning the rest of Linux(which I'm sure I'll have more questions about ) than just trying to get online.

Thanks!!

Does your router have a DHCP server enabled? If so, just use system-config-network (or redhat-config-network, forget what they're calling it these days) and set your system to use DHCP. Everything should get set up automagically. If not, post here with some more data about your system and router configurations.

Thanks for the response! I'm afraid I wouldn't know the answer to that. It's a BEFW11S4 4-port, wireless Linksys router, and a Marvell Yukon Gigabit Etherenet Adaptor integrated on an ASUS 64-bit AMD Motherborad. I have it hard wired into the router though. It works fine through windoze, but that's because AOL takes care of the sign-in. I figure I would just need to talk to the router, but the default IP wasn't working either. Thanks again for replying!
