OK-I believe I have it all fixed now-
I changed the menu-see screenshot
And fixed DSL, NTpassword and cleaned everything up-
I just cut a CD-R and everything ran beautifully
So I would say the one I'm uploading now is a BETA version
The upload will take awile and so I will post the new download link
in the morning.
Any suggestions on making a another live multidistro CD/USB combos?
Thanks Repo-
Constructive criticism is appreciated.
I should have cleaned it before I uploaded it-but it worked out.
From now on when I come up with something I'll add the warning just in case-
Like Alpha/Beta version
To play the iso in Qemu, etc first so the end user knows that it will boot and run.
Hopefully someone can find a use for it...
Just unzip the "LinuxToolz-BETA-USB.zip" straight to your USB and install syslinux with "syslinux -s /dev/sdxx" where "xx" is your USB, (sdf1,sde1,sdb1,etc)
Remember you gotta wait 60 sec to get the download-the link is in the bottom right side of the webpage.
Please post if you downloaded and used it, and provide constructive criticism...
I am downloading the USB version now. the download speed is better than the last time I checked for your old file. Hopefully, if my internet does not go down today, download should be complete by today afternoon. After that I will check with it and post again with the results.
So-did anyone try my rescue/recovery USB/CD above?
Well, the next creation is being uploaded now and will be ready for download in about 2hrs.
I used menu.c32 this time too. See screenshot
This time I made a MultiDistro LiveCD/USB featuring-
DSL-4.4.10
DSL-N-01RC4
Feather-0.7.5
Slitaz-latest "cooking" version
Puppy-4.2
NetbootCD-2.2 Which can Net-install
Ubuntu-6.06-9.04
Debian-stable/testing/unstable
Fedora-7-10 + testing
openSUSE-10.3/11/11.1/+ factory
Mandriva-2008/2009/cooker/current
CentOS-4/5 latest
Slackware-12.1/12.2/current
All that on a 512MB USB!
The iso is 459MB and the USB is 453MB.
Remember to install Syslinux to your USB to boot it.
I will post the download url's here as soon as they are done uploading.
As the ISO is a BETA, please run it in Qemu/VMware/etc before burning to CD-R so that you know it works.
All versions above are fully functional. I even included Qemu via Billix and wrote .sh scripts for DSL/DSL-N and Feather so they will play through Qemu when you insert your USB/CD, mount the CD/USB and then invoke the script with "./dsl-linux.sh" , "./dsln-linux.sh" , and "./feather-linux.sh"
I also included the ".bat" files for windows users.
Please try the scripts out and see if they work. Please read the readme files first.
I did notice one big error-I mistakenly have stated that you could just transfer "ldlinux.sys" (syslinux) to your USB and it would boot.
That is not so, I guess you do have to install syslinux through the command line-
"syslinux -s /dev/sdxx" where "xx" is your USB (sdf1,sdb1,sdg1,etc)
After that your USB will boot.
It needs work...I'm working on it now-The menu, re-writing the README1st file, etc.
I know the distro's all boot and run.
I tried just "coping" the "ldlinux.sys"(which syslinux installs to your USB) over to USB but it doesn't work....
So, yes you will need to install syslinux...
Repo can you help me out with post ( http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...u-help-715899/ )
I have it working except for the "can't load module xfs, etc"
This is part of the new LinuxLive-Beta and I need it to work right...
