anyone have any luck installing DreamLinux iso from hd

Hi,

Has anyone had any luck installing the DreamLinux iso directly from the harddrive? I have tried the DreamLinux forum with no luck. I do not have a working cd. I have tried qemu but it will not let me get access to the hd partitions. I have also tried the loop method but it get an error about missing cd.; Any help would be appreciated. THanks.

Does your computer have a USB slot? You can create a bootable USB to install DreamLinux using Unetbootin. It's a brilliant piece of software that does everything in 3 mouse clicks.

This is the easiest way:

It doesn't just have to be Ubuntu as the URL says though.

Hi nwtlnxqstns

The Final Release of Dreamlinux 3.5 will come with the updated installer which includes the new Eeepc and Usb "Live" and "Persistent" and USB harddrive installers. There is also a new script which will allow you to install to another partition from a downloaded iso.

We are still trying to get everything finished for a final release at the end of the year, so hopefully all of the above will be included. For the pendrive install I would recommend at least a 4Gb pendrive for the persistent version as you will have around 2 Gb of distro + space for personal file storage (the same as the installed distro. The LivePen will fit comfortably on a 1Gb pendrive.
