what is minimun requirement for vmware (linux host/windows host)?

is that linux host better than windows host ?

i want to have many OS runing in the same time without rebooting and dual boot !!
does it consum a lot of ram and cpu time ?

Ive tried it and it eats ram like crazy. I have 192MB of RAM (not much) and a pentium III 600MHz. It was ok but not as good as a normal boot. running more then one OS at a time with take ALOT more ram.

I use vmware, excellent app. To run properly though (not slugish) you really need 1GB of RAM. It will function on 256 but expect it to be really, REALLY slow.
