Anybody know why I cant access my email?

Ive tried with Opera and firefox. I click on the mail link on the yahoo main page like I always have and nothing happens, it just hangs with the watch mouse icon.
I have cookies, java and javascript enabled and it still does not work.

Anyone have any idea?

If that doesn't work, wait a while and try again. If you still encounter problems, contact the Yahoo Team and report it. FWIW, Yahoo is going through a complete make-over, and most services to date are in the beta-testing stage. That is causing some sporadic problems with the performance of their 'original' services, as well.

Cheers

I get the hourglass cursor and acts like its connecting but does not.

on a side note, for some reason I can only post here on LQ with Firefox, Opera will not let me log on to LQ, even after setting all the settings back to defaults, could there be a connection?

A corrupted $HOME/.mozilla directory? Rename your .mozilla directory to .mozilla-BAK, re-open Firefox and see if that fixes it.

I don't use Opera, so not sure if it has a $HOME/.opera directory that you could the same as with the .mozilla one.

I'm only offering a suggestion. If it doesn't work, rename the backed up directory to the original name.

I used Firefox ver. 2.0.0.6 and was able use the Mail link on the www.yahoo.com site without problem.

Well, I just gave that a try and It didnt change anything. :(
Any other suggestions? This is driving me crazy.

NO, I tried as user and root and all I get is Operation not permitted when i try to ping mail.yahoo.com, but I can log onto Yahoo.com and cannot ping it though? I get the same message, Operation not permitted.

Actually I cannot ping any address or name. I tried lots of different ones and I get the same message. Maybe im not doing it right? Its just "ping yahoo.com" right?
