Try Ubuntu? Any current version can act as a live CD, will mount your hard drive manually, and should be able to work a SAMBA server. I have never tried this, so best of luck!

Try simply Mepis 6.06. It has Samba Under KMenu>All Applications>Browse All>Apps>Net.
