Any new small (50-100MB) Linux distro's?
Good-morning-just wondering if there were any New, but small distro's made recently?
I already know of DSL-4.4.10/Puppy-4.2/Slitaz/Goblinx-Micro/TinyMe Thanks |
Try Slax. Not new but my favourite Live / Light distro so far. imho, better than Knoppix. And based on Slackware.
USB and ISO versions available. But it's 190 MB minimum. It's customizable (at download time as well) to have as many packages as you want. |
Yes-I didn't mention Slax-Can Slax be installed to HD yet or No?
|
I think it can, problem is that Slax is compressed. Thus it'll end up taking more space once it's installed.
Or you could installed it compressed, but simply copying over stuff and running bootinst.sh. This usually is used to install Slax to a USB-stick or SD-cards, but should work equally well with hard-drives, although I don't know if there's any limitation on the FS used. But then you probably still have the limitation if it being a read-only system. |
