Take a CCNA course... it's more worth it than any books. You need not take the exam if you just want hands on learning experience.

WannaLearnLinux 08-28-2003 09:31 PM

????

I'm sorry man,

what is CCNA course?Where should i found it with my bad english?is it free?probably not.

you can also take a look at the following link:

http://www.fokus.fhg.de/linux/LDP/rute/

i have that book in print, as well as Running Linux by O'Reilly, and a few magazines lying around. i find that by mixing and matching and looking around online, most stuff is covered. :)

I thought you wanted books about...

routers,networking,etc...
as you put it yourself (and not Linux). Hence my recommendation for CCNA courses. But hey, you can just buy the books on their own although without practice they're pretty much useless.

WannaLearnLinux 08-29-2003 10:03 PM

yea

Yea,

i'm still looking for any good book about routering, networking and stuff.the Running Linux is my first book,i bought it to learn basic commands,KDE,etc. It is doing fine, but now i need book about routering, because i don't know how those works.
You won't believe but i without any experience made router working. It was streng.i just put MAC adress and it works .)

Totaly newbie.Know about software, reinstalling OS ,install soft and hardware. But don't know much about routering, networking, etc. So i need book.

I'll look at Fry's to get any good one.

I posted this to get info about what books you'd recomend to me.

Thanx, but still can't see any reply with "buy this one" or "that one".

I can't take any courses.i know books getting useless in few "months" ( or days?).However my first book is Running Linux 4th and must tell you this book helped me a lot.

Thanks, WannaLearnLinux :)

I went to Barnes and Noble today and here they have a great Linux section. Needless to say I was drooling. :D
You might do a search on Ebay. You can usually get basically new books there for 8 to 15 dollars. One I plan on getting there is Linux System Administraion from the Craig Hunt Library.
