Any distro with web-based apache setup (including virtual host )?
 

I'm looking for a solution that makes it trivial for me to a create new apache virtual hosts. By trivial I mean a web-based click-thing that just works.

I've been using Linux for nearly 15 years, mostly for home server solutions and some development stuff for work, so it's obviously no problem for me to do all this manually from command line.

The thing is I don't enjoy repetitive admin tasks which I also happen to not do very often. Effectively I end up googling and spending time on re-learning stuff almost every time i do something admin-ish on Linux, like in this example setting up a new vhost and/or reverse proxy config. Ideally I want to go straight to deployment of the new web site, obviously after a few clicks to setting up apache first.

Having that said, I enjoy researching stuff that I haven't already worked on. I already have an apache server with reverse proxy set up for each vhost, and that was fun setting up - the first few times. Point is that I'm not some sort of newbie that is looking for the easy way out on on a platform where it is expected that you get your hands dirty.

I've seen commersial sites that has a web based dashboards to do this sort of admin work. Does anyone know if there are any distros that comes with this out of the box?

Edit: I intended to post this in the 'distributions' forum, but session timed out before posting this message didn't realize that it had fallen back to 'newbie' forum after logging in again.

I'm not aware of any distros that offer that capability. Perhaps you could simply build a script that would install Apache and the configure it the way you want? A script such as this would be trivial for someone of your skill set and you would only need to do it once.

Just a thought...
