antix linux getting out of help.txt
Hello
Can anyone pls give me advice how to get out of leaf pad in antix |
Same way that you would in any other distro. Click on the close button or on File->Exit.
|
Does not work.
|
You sure it is leafpad?
|
Hi...
If it is leafpad, you can try opening another terminal and using the pkill command (shown here) to terminate the program. :) Regards... |
Help pages in menu open in Dillo browser or help man pages in menu open in rox terminal. What version of AntiX are you talking about?

inxi -F |
Antix 16
I clicked another desktop. It shows me the leaf pad with bunch of codes in it. I tried to rebooted I keep getting the help.text file with bunch of codes in it. |
I am not understanding what you are saying other than you are running antix 16 and you sound like you are saying leafpad, seems to opening html help docs.
You can stop leafpad from opening html documents by opening rox file manager right click on a html file. select default run action. type in dillo or what ever browser you prefer. Then close it. It works just like Puppy Linux rox filer. So it should not be a problem for you. |
I clicked on other desktop
Then on Herbstluftwm. then I am on leaf pad. |
In the leafpad window, do you have a text menu at the top with e.g. File - Edit - Search - Options - Help ?
|
Yes
|
What happens when you select File then Quit?
|
Goes blanc. The screen goes blanc.
|
The entire screen? What colour?

you have to reboot, and in the boot menu there's some F... key (no, i'm not swearing, i mean a function key, along the bottom) to change the desktop session. since you don't like herbstluftwm, change it back to something like jwm or icewm or fluxbox, and save (still inside the boot menu). then continue booting. does that help? |
