Are you asking whether there's
Linux specific Anti-virus programs?

Or whether Norton Antiwalrus will
work under Linux?

Linux virus-scanner visit

I'm using this one - http://www.f-prot.com/products/home_use/linux/ - you have to install it in root, it's hard to say whether it "works" or not as you cant see if it's "booted up" with Linux, I assume it just runs in the background

ehm...
maybe this question sounds awfully stupid
but is antivirus software necessary in linux?
I thought this software for linux was only used in the case of email (server) filtering software.. to prevent the spread of these charming creatures
(tell me if I am wrong)

byebye!

Well, there is the odd Linux virus, and there's
certainly several trojans around ... so, I think
running virus-scanners on Linux is feasible,
not only if you relay mails...
