Unhappy Another WINEing problem

My knowledge in Linux is about 2 weeks. I know how to get around in the LINUX prompt. I think DOS prompt is clumsly than LINUX although I have been using DOS all my life. I recently installed Wine that came with Mandrake 8.1. I found a perl script that detects if wine is installed properly. The perl script is winecheck if you want to know. I ran winecheck and it said that my floppy can not write and SHAREDMEMLOCATION is not located in system.reg file. Yes, I did a search on that particular text and I could not find it. Where do I put SHAREDMEMLOCATION in my system.reg file.

My second question, where is the information on increasing file block size so LINUX can handle system.reg and other files much easier.

I could not get wordpad, calculator, MS Paint, and Solitair running under WINE. I think it is that text mentioned earlier.

I have WINE release 20010731 that makes any sense.

If you want to know more about my computer system. Go to my site:
http://mrelectric.cjb.net

Please use either IE 5 or higher. You can also use Netscape 4.78 but stay away from Netscape 6.0.

BTW, I tried loading SoftDVDMAX version 4.0 for a test run but it gave me a memory error saying that I ran out of memory. I have 512 megabytes of memory and five swap partitions of 128 megabytes. Before I ran wine, I had about 256 megabytes left of physical memory. I could add more memory (up to 2 gigabytes) to my system if that makes WINE feels better.
