Another basic bash question

How do I increase different parts of the date variable and then get it altogether again?

Code:
today=`date +%d%m%y`
let "end= 2*`date +%d`" #and then what? how do i also get increased month and year?

A little more detail on exactly what you are trying to do would probably get you more help. What does 'increase different parts of the date variable' mean?
