Android Studio AVD manager is not working iN Linux Mint Cinnamon


/home/aditya/Android/Sdk/tools/emulator -netdelay none -netspeed full -avd Nexus_5_API_23
emulator: ERROR: x86_64 emulation currently requires hardware acceleration!
Please ensure KVM is properly installed and usable.
CPU acceleration status: KVM is not installed on this machine (/dev/kvm is missing).

MY system configuration is:
OS:Cinnamon 64 bit
Kernel:3.16.0-38 generic
Processor:Intel Core 2 Duo
Graphics :Mobile 4 chipset Integrated Graphics Controller
