Question An anti-virus to scan pen drives on linux?

I need to know whether an anti virus software is to be installed to scan pen drives and other similar stuffs? ? ?

If it is a fat/vfat/ntfs pen drive then you can scan it with clamav. But you can format pendrives with ext2 and use them in *nixes only. On Linux, it is not necessary

wat abt avast editions for linux...
it comes with 3 packages for linux as rpm, deb , tar gz . ..
which can be used ?
