amsn problems plz HELP

Hi Guys I dont know if my question has been asked before or not still i need ur help !!
I am using Red Hat linux 9.0
I downloaded amsn and i already have tcl and tk installed.

i executed amsn and tried to sign in. before i could do that the program prompted me that i have to install tsl and when i checked linux-x86 Architecture and pressed ok
an error was generted which said something like "No TOK suck variable" and after that nothing happened and i had to quit.

Then I downloaded TSL my self from source forge website and in preferences i gave amsn the address like "/home/fahad/tsl1.4" in which three files were located (i didnt installed any of the files i just downloaded them and extracted them out of the package)

Also i am on a LAN and i use socks 5 in windows while i connect using msn. i have also enabled socks 5 check box given in the connections tab of amsn and has give the same server and port number as i used to do in windows.

Now when i try to connect after all this stuff when i try to connect the "logging in" message does arrive on the screen with the penguin but i am not able to sign in

Desparate Plz Help

if the program ask you to install datas (tsl).. it's because since two moths (i think), msn is using a new protocol with SSL (Secure Socket Layer).. so the old clients can no connect to the network msn..
If you don't download TSL, you will not be able to connect to msn

:p

willand i have also described in my mail that i downloaded TSL my self and extracted it out in TSL1.4 folder. Then i set up the path to this folder in the Libararies tab (inside prefrences). I adjusted the sock 5 , server name and port address (as i used to do in windows while using msn) I am on a LAN.

After doing all thing when i try to connect i see this screen with a penguin walikng with a writing "loggin in" and it goes on and on but nothing happens.

(i dont know if i have to install tsl or wht. i simply extracted it and i dont know that amsn 0.83 support socks 5 or not ) plz HELP

Have u tried to connect through GAIM? I found GAIM to be heaps more reliable than amsn.

hye Ihiggins !!
I am a complete newbie u see !! it was kind of achivement for me when i configured my machine on this LAN as i my self think that even LAN adminitrator does not know how to configure Linux on Network.

Now I dont know wht GAIM is and how to use it. If u would be king enough to give me start. Also i was persuing msn messaging service as mostly my contacts exist on msn messager.

I had this idea that actually linux user connect to these service not that only amsn is a software that connects to msn sevice there might be others too. if u can clear taht for me :) plz

http://gaim.sourceforge.net/

GAIM is a multi-chat client. It will do your msn messenger + much more. I'm sure it comes with redhat 9. But you can d/l it from the website. It's also available for windows too.
