hey,
i am using mandrake 9.0 and using kde 3.0 nad i downloaded amsn-0_90.tar.gz and i am a real newb with linux.. i don't know how to install it... or if u could tell me a site where i can downlaod massanger with will let me login in to my msn massanger. and chat..

search for installing software, do u really think that hasn't been asked before? google for gaim and read a little about it

hey i'm using the exact same thing as you are

if you read the website or the readme it says no need to install amsn (especially the source that you already have)

so just extract it using tar -xzvf amsn-0_90.tar.gz

it will produce a directory amsn-0_90

cd to the directory and run amsn

done

add to path if you want

Just a trick:

With mandrake, you have some files .rpm to install, it's very easy to install and it's for Mandrake :)

www.rpmfind.net or whatever :)

rpm -ivh file.rpm

or

urpmi package_name
