AMD64 and Suse 9.2 Pro HELP!!!

Alright, I am pretty new at this stuff, I know some of the commands in linux (I am not afraid of the command line) and I have fooled with it over the years off and on, so I am not a complete noob, but here is my question.

I am currently running WinXP Pro sp2 on a amd64 fx-53, 1gb ram, 6800 ultra, and 2 HDs (1, 36gb raptor, and 120gb storage drive(dynamic).

To test my system, I installed VMWARE 5.0 beta and installed suse 9.1 (all i had at the time) and it ran perfect except for the fact that I could not get my video card drivers installed, which i suspect had something to do with vmware. Anyways, I will stop beating around the bush and get 2 it, I have a version of suse 9.2 pro on the way, when it gets here I am wanting to take the plunge and dual boot my system. I have always had another machine to use as just a linux box, but this will be my first one where I am risking it. I have installed norton partition magic 8.0 on my system and I want to make my windows xp partition 20-25gb, I understand how to do that, but when i stick my linux disk in will I even need to run partition magic before to make the other 10 gb on my hd or will suse 9.2 pro do that for me??

My next question is should I install the 64 bit version, will all the current things smoothly or should i stick with the 32 bit for the time being. also when u stick the disk in I read somewhere that u will have to hit F7 to get it to install the 64 bit, because the dvd that i bought has both versions on it.

Sorry for the ammount of questions in this post, I have been reading forums for the past week and I am still unclear about these certain things and I didn't want to post something that had already been answered before. Thank you for your time, it is greatly appreciated.. :Pengy:

If you have a 64bit processor, install the 64bit version. There is no reason to use the 32bit that I can think of.
Every time I have ever installed SuSE 9.1 or 9.2 it installs the 64bit version on a 64 bit system by default...
i actually tried to install a 32 bit version the other day (for whatever reason i can't remember) and i remember it whined about
installing 32bit software on a 64 bit system right at the start of the install program.... so i think you're all set. that was
a suse 9.1 DVD with both versions.
