Alinux SpeedTouch

Hi, I have just installed Alinux, looks great so far. but I don't know how to get my modem working. I have the crappy thomson speedTouch 330, I can get it to work with SuSE and Mandriva by following the steps on these pageshttp://www.linux-usb.org/SpeedTouch/ but it doesn't seem to work for Alinux. Any ideas would be helpful. Adrian

Fraid i can't really help though, but if you can give me a shove in the right direction with SuSE i'd be greatful ;)

Hi Jolly, sorry I'm far from being an expert but I have re-installed Suse and Mandriva many times and havehad no bother with speedtouch 330 with either distro. I just copy and paste the instructions on the link I posted. my ISP Tiscali, says it uses pppoe and pppoa I use the pppoa scripts supplied and they work. All I can do is tell you the steps I take:
  1. 1 collect together all the firmware and copy it to your home folder
  2. 2 Find out what Revision Of The Modem using the script provided.
  3. 3 unzip the firmware with the commands given
  4. 4 copy it to: cp speedtch* /lib/firmware, go in and check its there.
  5. 5 not a lot to say except follow the script through, it worked for me on Suse 9.2 9.3 and 10.0 but I know your frustration as I can't get Alinux sorted with speedtouch. hope this helps? Adrian

SuSE 9.3 + 10.0 don't need pppoatm.so.
