hey, i come to you in an operating system that i am not allowed to mention here beacuse i dont know how to set up my wireless network,
I have a HP dv9235nr , i have never gotten how to use its bluetooth capabilities but most important, my hp wireless assistant is unavailable in ubuntu, i read the thread on this in this site linuxquestions.org/questions/showthread.php?t=395386 and loaded ndiswrapper what do i need to do now? |
well, i have discovered how to install the ndiswrapper but the only problem is that it requires two files i do not have .info and .sys or something
|
to add insult to insult, i discover even a normal landline does not connect me to the internet
|
Ndiswrapper Ubuntu how-to would be a good place to start..
Also knowing what hardware you are trying to configure would help. the output of the two following commands should tell us what Ethernet (wired) and Wireless card you have. lspci lspcmcia the .sys and .inf files are part of the windows drivers for your wireless card, that should have come with your laptop.. |
i finally found out what to do, it is called pppoeconf which is supposedly used to set up my modems and stuff, the question is keep getting this strange error message every time i run it

sorry for being so erratic in my posting and replying but every time i post and get a reply, i have to log off wind@ws and then swicth back to ubuntu to impliment your suggestions. kinda gets tiring after awhile. |
