I am just wondering I have compaired running aircrack-ng on a desktop and a laptop both core i5 . The laptop is 2.53ghz and desktop is 3.4ghz. aircrack-ng on the laptop only runs at 470k/s and the desktop 4000 k/s. The question is i dont get how not even 1ghz more on the desktop can make is run so so much faster. What am i missing?

You're looking at the wrong specification. You're talking about data transfer speed. Compare the Wlan cards of the two machines and try also to find out how they're interfaced with the motherboard.


There might also be limits related to ram if that differs in any specific way as ram sets the limit of how large the transfer buffer can be.
