How do I enagle agpgart, in the kernel?

I have Savage: The Battle for Newerth installed on Mandrake 10.1 When I start the game, it tells me that I need to turn on AGPGART in my kernel. My question is:

How do I do this, and if you know how, can you send me the steps to do it?

TY

as root

modprobe agpgart

that should work, are you using a stock kernel?

RobTek 10-15-2004 09:52 PM

Yes the kernel Im using, is the kernel that came with the distro.

I just tried it, and it didnt work.

I am trying to play Savage, with my linux box. When it starts up, it tells me, that I need to enable AGP supprt, or agpgart. The modprobe did not work. I've no idea, what to do. Thank you for you response.

I am not new to Mandrake LInux, but I do not know, the full features, of compiling kernels. When it comes to that, I am a NEWBIE. Perhaps, you might be able to help me out.

Both SuSE and Mandrake have AGPgart enabled as a Kernel MODULE, not enabled directly in the kernel.

To enable it, you need to load the module in your XF86Config-4 file in Mandrake or the XF86Config file in SuSE.
