AGP graphics card magically PCI, what's going on?
 

Hello everyone,
I am completely new to Linux and this is my first post. Not surprisingly it's a cry for help.

But first a brief rant:
While waiting for a copy of Gentoo to arrive in the post, I have been using an old copy of Fedora Core 2 that I got free with some mag ages ago. At first
F.C. seems great to the [very] noob. The graphical install is ultra simple, disk druid is fantastic, and almost all the hardware is detected. But once you start to use it it's
awful! It's twice as slow as windoze and bugier than a termite mound [I live in New Zealand, so we don't actually have termite mounds here, but the expression seemed
appropriate]. It's almost enough to make me want to go back to the dreaded XP. I have however seen Linux running as it should, and know it has great potential, and so I persist.
But a note to all of you, don't suggest Fedora Core to noobs, while the graphical install is easy, people don't switch to Linux because it's easy, they switch because they
want stability, speed, and control over their computer. Although if it can be made easy too that is an advantage =).

Now help, I have been struggling with Fedora while I wait for Gentoo to arrive, I have just installed my graphics card, "nVidia Geforce 6600GT", [it should have been simple but wasn't,
binutils were needed, so I got them, then I needed to get out of X... Ctrl+Alt+Backspace does not work in Fedora, thanks to this wonderful site I discovered that telinit 3 does
work! [then telinit 5 to get back to X]].
So the card is now installed Yay! All seems to be "working" fine, so no prob there, however when I open "nVidia X server settings" it
shows the Bus type as PCI rather than AGP as it should be [for my card]... what's going on? How do I change this? I don't know that it's actually effecting anything as everything
seems to be working, but it's really annoying [and wrong =(].
Please note that I am very new to Linux so any directions [very greatfully received] to correcting this problem will have to be "step by step". Thankyou in advance for your
help. And thankyou for reading all the way through this gibberish =).

The agp slot is on the pci bus. There isn't a problem.

My agp card was picked up incorrectly by the bios/motherboard, so maybe it's that.
