Dear All
Thank you for your support and patience.
May be I'm to Newbie for Linux .
What I would like at first from linux is to be able to use the Staroffice 5.2 .
I need to mount the floppy and cdrom once for all .
You see from my past e-mail which kind of commands I typed .
They are not working .
Please could somebody write me down the commands sequence so I can try again ?

And for install the printer ? Where i have to go or what I have to type ?
I have a Canon bjc70

Thank you very much in advance

Mariomason, if you post a reply to a thread you start, it'll see email to the people who are participating in your thread. When you start a new one, a lot of the people who had been participating in your old thread might miss out on the new one.

Of course your problem with the printer can be a new thread. I'll look for a recommendation on that. However, it's not clear to me what you've done in the matter of the mounting of the floppy.

Do you know how to copy and paste? You gave a command line that you said you typed in. I copied and pasted the commandline into my terminal and pressed ENTER. It worked perferctly. I don't see how that command could have posibly produced the error you mentioned. The error you described indicated you had a wrong parameter after the dash "-" in your command.

If you know how to copy and paste, will you do the command again. This time copy the content of the screen, both the command you typed in and the error message you get so that I can look at it.

You can copy and paste by highlighing what you want to copy, then go to the screen you want to paste it to and hit the middle button on your mouse. There are other ways of copying and pasting if you have a favorite one.

Some one else, or I will look into a recommendation for your printer problem.

Again, start as many threads as you have different subjects. But to expedite your responces I would like to recommend that you try to follow one of your started threads when you have followup information.

On copy and paste

Hi again
Excuse me but I have a notebook with tuochpad mouse , I don't have a normal mouse .
How can I copy the console commands in the post reply space with this touchpad ?

I red the reply about the problems on mounting the floppy and I'm thinking that may be I did not create the directory where to mount the floppy .
If it can be how can I create the directory ?

Thank you
Mario

It would appear that the directory is created, otherwise it would have returned an error, “mount: mount point /mnt/fff does not exist”.

You should be able to copy and paste using your touch pad and buttons that same way you normally would for anything else. Are you able to highlight text that is typed it? Do this by holding down the left button while you drag the mouse pointer (using the touch pad). After the text that you want is highlighted go to where you want to pasted it and hold down the shift key and tap the insert key.
