Advice on potential boot problem.

I installed ubuntu from the live cd onto a seperate 80gb drive. I have XP on the other 80gb drive. XP is on the primary and ubuntu on the slave.

When i reboot i get an option screen asking whether to boot Ubuntu or XP.................all good.

But i want to format the slave drive (with ubuntu on) because i need the space now.

My questions is this, If I just wipe the slave drive and reboot will XP boot as normal ? or will it cause problems ? Is there any things i may need to do to to the MBR ? or anything ?

Cheers.

To re-establish you original Windows booting setup, you need to boot from the Windows install CD, rescue mode, and run "fixmbr".

Sorry, I am also another newbie. I also want to do the same. Does the XP installation CD need to be the same one that I used at installation or any other equivalent will work? (I asked this because, my backup XP is inside a hidden partition of IBM thinkpad and I can't extract it unless I completely reinstall the XP.)
Thank you in advance.
